FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHY ARE SHIPPING COSTS SO HIGH?

The shipping costs you incur for each piece include the carrier fee with UPS as well as the packaging and labor performed by @the_glassclown to ensure that each piece is delivered as it was sent: as close to poifect as clown can be.

Each piece, big or small, is packaged in a hand-crafted, rigid box before being encased in standard corrugated cardboard packaging.

Also, glass is very heavy.  So is lead.  Stained glass panels can be very heavy and therefore require extra handling fees on behalf of the carrier.

WHAT TECHNIQUES DO YOU USE TO CREATE YOUR ART?

Most of our stained glass panels are produced using lead came (as opposed to copper foil).  Lead came creates straighter, bolder lines and also provides needed rigidity where copper foil often does not.

Copper foil is still cool, though.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

Unfortunately we have not yet found an international carrier that we can trust fully to deliver the goods without damage and without a hassle to make claims on said damage.  We are hopeful that we will have a solution to this soon.  At the moment, @the_glassclown proudly ships to North American locations with UPS.

CAN YOU MAKE _______?

Yep.  We can.  We can work with you to come up with a design that works well with stained glass (not just any picture from Google images will do) from nearly any type of source image.

The level of detail we can include in the finished piece will depend greatly on size, which of course depends greatly on budget.  To start a custom commission conversation, just send us a message with your thoughts!
